Sheikh Ahmad Fauwaz brings unique and niche experiences in Islamic Finance world, whereby he combines his well-depth in the knowledge of Shariah and expertise developed from the financial industry. His distinguished capabilities lies with his abilities to marry the traditional Fiqh with the contemporary Fiqh which ultimately making him passionate in providing “world-changing” service to accelerate the development of Shariah-compliant markets. He has been involved in multiple studies and projects and successfully completed many Shariah compatible financial products.

He is currently serves as a member of the Shariah Committee of Alliance Islamic Bank Berhad and FWD Takaful Berhad. He has been appointed as the member of Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (“MAWIP”) and the Director of Industrial Networking and Department of Islamic Studies by Dar al-Hikmah College.

He is well recognised as the Shariah Consultant and also the writer for Telaga Biru Sdn Bhd, an Islamic publishing house in Malaysia. He has written more than twenty-five (“25”) books, mostly in Islamic genres. He has also been appointed as the Shariah Advisor for Gumash Hair Colours, the first hair colours company to promote hair colours in accordance to Islamic ways.

He is a Certified Shariah Auditor and Adviser (“CSAA”) of the Accounting and Auditing Organisation of Islamic Financial Institution (“AAOIFI”) and holder of the professional certificate on Fatwa from Dar al-Ifta al-Misriyyah. He completed his Masters in Shariah from the University of Malaya with a thesis “Manhaj Tarjih and Takhrij Sa’aduddin Musaad Hilali in the book: Al-Basmah al-Wirathiah wa ‘Alaiqulha al-Syar’iah” as well as holder of Bachelor in Syar’iah Islamiyyah from the University of al-Azhar. Currently, he is at the final level for Certified Shariah Advisor programme offered by the Association of Shariah Advisors in Islamic Finance (“ASAS”).
